Wooden Staircase Finishing

The staircase, floors and bedrooms share one warm wood tone, so every level of the home flows into the next.

01What the family wanted

The family wanted a sturdy staircase that feels soft underfoot and suits the bedrooms on the upper floors.

02How we finished it

The treads are natural wood with rounded edges for safety. The railing is powder-coated steel, with the balusters set close together so small children cannot slip through.

  • The wood is kiln-dried before use to limit warping
  • Step lights make it easier to move around at night
  • Bedrooms have wood paneling behind the bed and soft, warm indirect lighting

03Handover

The wood is given a protective coating, and the railing is checked for sturdiness before handover.

Results

A sturdy, beautiful staircase and cozy bedrooms, all in one wood tone.
